 Shannon was a three sport scholar-athlete at Fenwick. She lettered four years in track and soccer, and three years in basketball. In track she was MML First Team in multiple events over her four years. In 1990 she ran on the 4x200 Relay Team that was a state qualifier. Then, in 1991 & 1992, she ran on the 4x400 State Champion Relay Team. And finally, in 1993, she ran on the 4x800 State Champion Relay Team and that 1993 team(5 girls) won the Team State Championship for Division 3.
In soccer, Shannon helped the Falcons to MML championships in 1989 and 1990, and reached the District Finals in both of those years. She was First Team All-MML her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. She was selected to the Miami Valley Coaches A-AA All-Area Team as a senior and the South Team as a junior. She was a co-captain her senior year and received the Outstanding Defensive Player Award.
In basketball, Shannon was named co-captain her junior and senior seasons. She was Honorable Mention All-MML her junior and senior years. The team won the District Championship in 1991 and was District Runner-up in 1993.
One of the most significant accolades that Shannon received was the Ruth Knox Catholic Athlete of the Year Award in her senior year.
After graduating from Fenwick, Shannon attended Marietta College where she was a 3 year starter for the Pioneers Soccer Team. Her senior year she was a team captain and received All OAC(Ohio Athletic Conference) All-League Second Honors.
Shannon has been married to husband Matt for 10 years, and they have three daughters; Grace, Caitlyn, and Megan. She has been involved in various community activities, including serving as a soccer coach, a religious education teacher for first grade, and a member of the PTA and the Special Needs PTA. |
