Maureen Long Gaston Coach (1990-1993) Graduated 1983 Inducted 2005
Maureen Long Gaston was the only Bishop Fenwick athlete to represent the school in the State Championship Finals in three sports: Cross Country in 1979, Track in 1980-81 and 1982-83, and Basketball in 1983.

Maureen earned varsity letters in four sports: Cross Country, Swimming, Basketball, and Track. She was a starting guard on the 1982-83 girls basketball squad which competed in the state finals in Columbus. She was named second team all Mid-Miami League and special mention in District Fifteen in basketball in the 1982-83 season. Maureen competed in the state finals in track and field in Columbus all four of her high school years. She was a member of the 4x400 relay team that finished third in the state in 1981.

In 1983, Maureen was named Bishop Fenwick Female Athlete of the Year. After graduation, she coached the girls varsity track team at Fenwick High School from 1990 until 1993. During those four years the girls won the gold medals in 10 events. Under Maureen's coaching, the girls team ranked in the top 4 in the state all four years. The 1993 team won the state title in track and field, the only state championship for Bishop Fenwick High School girls in the school's history.

Maureen was among the best female athletes in Bishop Fenwick High School history. Maureen's record has earned her great respect among the outstanding Fenwick female athletes.
