Jim Jackson was an outstanding basketball player for Falcon teams of the late 1950's. He was an outstanding shooting guard who played his best against top competition. During his senior season, Jim twice broke the Falcon single game scoring record previously held by Hall of Famer, Tom Augspurger, with 35 points against Seven Mile, then 39 points against a tough Cincinnati DePorres squad. He led the team with 28 points in Fenwick's history-making first win over Hamilton Catholic that same year.
Jim finished his senior season as the team's leading scorer while the Falcons achieved their best won-loss record to date. He was also the second leading scorer in Butler County(behind Jerry Lucas) and was named honorary captain of the All-League team. He capped his career by being named to the All-Ohio team, a high honor indeed for an athlete from a small school. |
