To say that Tim Jorden was an all-around athlete for Fenwick is an understatement. Tim excelled in any sport he played and was an integral part of some of the most successful sports teams in Falcon history.

In football Tim earned All Mid-Miami League first team honors three straight years(All-MML 1st T 1982/84, All-MML 2nd T 1983). He was the first sophomore in MML history to be named 1st team quarterback and earned 1st team selection on both offense(tight end) and defense (defensive back) as a senior. He won All-District and All-State notice as a junior and senior, earning first team All-Ohio and Lineman of the Year honors as a senior for a Falcon team that was State Class A runner-up.

In basketball, Tim started off his career in fine fashion as a freshman starter for the 1981/82 Class A State Champions, becoming only the second freshman in the 60 year history of the tournament to start for the championship team. He earned All-MML, All-District and All-State honors as a junior. In his senior year, Tim was the MML Player of the Year and the S.W. Ohio "A-AA" District Player of the Year for the MML and District Champion Falcons.

Tim also excelled at baseball, where the Falcons were State Class A semifinalists in his freshman campaign, and tennis.

According to the Butler Country Sports Hall of Fame:
Jorden, one of the most gifted Falcon athletes ever, etched his name at Fenwick, Indiana University, and in the National Football League through his athletic achievements.

Jorden, the first sophomore ever chosen as the All-MML first team QB, led the Falcons to a Class A state runner-up finish. He earned All-Ohio honors and was named Ohio Player of the Year in both football and basketball before attending Indiana.

At IU, his success continued as he played in three major bowl games and was an honorable mention All-American in 1988. Jorden's five year NFL career as a tight end was spent with the Pheonix Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. He resides in Phoenix. -- printed from the Middletown Journal November 15, 2000
